What is the issue

Long uninterrupted sitting involves very low energy expenditure and little movement. WHO recommends reducing sedentary behaviour and increasing physical activity.

Practical protocol

Every 30–45 minutes, stand for two minutes, take a few steps, move the shoulders and look into the distance. Avoid intense or painful movement.

How to check

For seven days, record number of breaks, afternoon fatigue and neck or back discomfort. Seek professional assessment if pain persists or worsens.
